Charlotte Thyra Lunde currently works for the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY), where she supports the mission’s work on gender and security issues. In addition to facilitating dialoged with armed actors in Yemen, Ms. Lunde works to streamline women’s meaningful participation in the peace process. She previously spent two years at UNHQ, where she worked for the DPO, Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI). During her time in New York, she oversaw the UN-AU partnership on SSR and provided support to UNITAMS in Sudan. Prior to joining the UN, Ms. Lunde was a Political Advisor at the British Embassy in Norway. Ms. Lunde has experience working on development issues and previously spent three years in Senegal where she worked for the human-rights based NGO Tostan, which is focused on women’s empowerment. She was previously a trainee with Norwegian Mission to the African Union in Ethiopia. Ms. Lunde holds a master’s degree in International Relations form the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Macalester College, USA.
