Hanna Lepistö is career diplomat at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland with experience of peace mediation, mediation support and security policy. She currently works as Deputy Head of Mission of Finland to NATO. Prior to this assignment she was Peace Mediation adviser in the EU’s External Action Service focusing on designing and implementation of mediation support in different peace processes, policy development, peace mediation training. She co-lead the preparation and design for EU’s first guidance on peace mediation. She has worked with various questions related to the Syrian conflict, including mediation and peacebuilding support to initiatives financed by the MFA. She has working experience from different African countries and from Latin America. She holds a Master’s degree on Mediation in Peace processes (2017-2019) at the Center of Security Studies in the ETH Zurich and a Master’s degree in Social Sciences.
