Hanne Lund Madsen


Hanne Lund Madsen has strong engagement in conflict mediation as certified mediator by the National Commission of Police and she has vast global experience with high level mediation and dialogue facilitation among political parties and related actors - including Myanmar, Burkina Faso, Kenya and Tanzania.  As Head of Global Programmes at the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD) she has spearheaded dialogue and conflict mediation initiatives and measures to promote participation of women in politics.  As Programme Director in Cross Cultures she has forged many public-private partnerships for reconciliation and peaceful co-existence in post-conflict communities. Her interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach is harnessed during a long track record as trusted advisor to the UN, bilateral donors, global and local NGOs on human rights, democratization, good governance and sustainable leadership. She holds Master in International Development Studies and in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and has work experience in more than 40 countries across Eastern Europe, Asia, South Pacific, Africa and Central America.
