Hilde Salvesen is experienced in inclusive peace processes, especially how to include women in the processes and the gender perspective in peace agreements. Her main experience is from the peace process in Colombia where she served at the Norwegian facilitation team, responsible for women, peace and security from 2014 to 2016. She has also been involved on promoting women’s participation in the peace talks for Libya. Hilde is currently Policy Director at the Section for Humanitarian Affairs in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She is responsible for better interconnectedness between humanitarian, development and peace efforts and focal point for OCHA and its humanitarian funds. In the period 2017 - 2019 Salvesen was Director of the International Department at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights with ample programmes on human rights education, rule of law and equality. Implementation of the peace agreement was the focus of her job when she served for two years in the Norwegian embassy in Guatemala (2004-2006). In the period 2002-2004, Salvesen was Country Director for Latin-America at the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation. A political scientist by profession, she was affiliated with the Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) 1998-2001, conducting research on implementation of peace agreements and civil-military relations in Latin America.
