Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir was until recently the Deputy Special Representative for political affairs and electoral assistance of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq. She served as the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) 2017-2020. Prior to this she was UN Women’s Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia and a UN Women Country Representative to Turkey 2014-2017, and UN Women Country Representative to Afghanistan 2012-2014. She was an international and honorary member of the International Women´s Network for a Just and Sustainable Israeli-Palestinian Peace from 2007-2010. Ingibjörg served as a Member of Parliament for 7 years, was Foreign Minister of Iceland 2007-2009 and Mayor of Reykjavik 1994-2003.
