Maria Pade Lange

Maria Pade Lange is a peacebuilding professional with 20 years’ experience in policy/advocacy, research, program design and management. Maria has developed policy and practice tools for conflict sensitivity and designed and managed peacebuilding programs in the Great Lakes region (Burundi and DR Congo), including as Country Director for International Alert in DR Congo. She has coordinated operations and programs for Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in West and Central Africa and is currently DRC’s Global Lead on Addressing root causes of displacement, supporting strategy and program design on both conflict and environmental/climate change-related drivers of displacement for DRC field operations. She supports organizational learning, capacity strengthening and advocacy on drivers of displacement, conflict and climate resilience and the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. She holds an MA in political science and international relations from Copenhagen University.
